Incoterms regulates the distribution of transportation costs, risk transfers, and details of sales processes.

The liabilities of buyer and seller are described clearly for each clause in a 10 points scheme and picture explanations are added to ease the selection of the correct Incoterms. Additional notes are added before each clause, and basic contents are summarized.

Incoterms is not a law, but the buyer and seller need to agree on it in addition to the sales contract. Incoterms goes into effect if the buyer and seller agree on it completely. Legal and special provisions that are involved in specific contracts between the parties substitute Incoterms.

According to DLSV, in regards to some terms (such as Exw), the buyer is obliged to complete export custom clearance processes and obtain the export license.

However, as a general rule, sellers and exporters are responsible for these processes according to custom and foreign trade rules. In this case, the buyer’s obligation becomes invalid. 

An agreement on the Incoterms clause should be as below; 

Three-letter abbreviation, clear and net description, Incoterms status (no date on which the old Incoterms were repealed) Example : FCA Bonn, Factory II, Example Street 7, ICC Incoterms 2010

Because of the gradually growing worldwide trade volume and activity, consolidation of the shipments has become essential., sometimes. A partial seaway loading option is offered when goods do not completely fill one vessel on International logistics services.

Full Container Load (FCL): In case that goods to be transported are high in volume and fill the container, Flc loading is realized. So, a contract can be formed with the owner of the goods for a given period. When the shipment arrives at the port, the owner of the goods can transfer the goods to their depot or take advantage of our bonded and non-bonded warehousing services as well.

Less than Contaier Load (LCL):

In case that goods to be transported does not fill the container, partial container loading service is offered with the shipments that have two or more consignees. When the container arrives at the port, it is delivered to the consignee’s custom agent after control.

FCL/LCL: Two or more exporter’s shipments are loaded in one container, and there is one importer.
LCL/FCL: The container is loaded by one exporter, and the shipment is consigned to two or more importer. 
FCL/FCL: The full container has one exporter and one importer.
LCL/LCL: The partial shipment has one exporter and one importer.

EXPLOSIVES

Explosives are solid or liquid matters which go under chemical change very quickly under heat, strike, and shock. 

They pose risks to the environment by generating very high temperatures of heat and a high volume of gas.

They should be stowed away from the personnel and body of the ship. 

Examples of matters in this class: Gun Powder, Cartridge, Smoke Bomb, Ammunition, Dynamite vs.

  1. Materials which can cause mass explosions.
  2. Materials which have a danger of projection.
  3. Materials that cause danger of fire or low risk of projection.

GAS

2.1 FLAMMABLE GAS

They should be stowed away from any heat source or personnel accommodation spaces.

Must be avoided as much as possible.

Platinum, Uranium, Thorium.


CORROSIVE SUBSTANCES

Corrosive Subtsances are the solid, liquid org as matters that damages and corrodes the skin when contacted.

Examples of matters in this class:

Hydrochloric acid, Acetic acid, Nitric acid.

Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances are the goods which may cause danger during transportation not covered by any dangerous goods classes.
